Postcards are invaluable when doing location research.
Postcards add depth to your location research plans. Many postcards will include photos and images of buildings that no longer exist. Some will provide insight into an old downtown or town square that your ancestors may have strolled a hundred years ago.
Postcards show that places that were once picturesque are still beautiful and worth visiting 50 years later. This is a 1971 photo by George Weinhaupi of the Queen Elizabeth Park in Vancouver, Canada. It is just as beautiful today!
